We are thrilled to announce that the HEX High Accelerator Program has been officially approved by the South Australian Certificate of Education (SACE) Board and the South Australian Tertiary Admissions Centre (SATAC) as Recognised Studies that can count towards students’ ATAR.

The HEX High Accelerator Program is a unique program in collaboration with the University of Sydney to close the digital skills gap by providing SACE students with credit towards their SACE completion and their ATAR, as well as university academic credit as they upskill in innovation and entrepreneurship.

HEX High eligible to contribute to ATAR

The program has been approved as a Recognised Studies and can contribute 10 Stage 2 credits (equivalent to a semester-long subject) out of the 90 credits required for students to receive an ATAR.

Year 11 and 12 students can complete this 10-credit, Stage 2 course and receive credits towards their ATAR, with the scaled score equivalents based on the table below.

The HEX High Accelerator Program is equivalent to 10 credits so a High Distinction will be equivalent to a scaled score of 10, a Distinction will be equivalent to 9.9 and so on.

Note: Students can’t have both ‘Business Innovation’ and the HEX High Accelerator Program count towards their ATAR as this is a precluded combination.

HEX High eligible to contribute to university degrees

Not only do students receive credits towards their SACE and ATAR, but upon completion of the program at a passing grade or above, the University of Sydney will issue certificates of completion that provide students with a graded academic record of their learning. These can be used to apply for credit at universities around Australia (and the world) that recognise the University of Sydney’s academic credit.
