Program Outcomes
Develop a startup concept using design thinking practices.
Meet your APAC customer base and discover their needs using industry-standard research methods.

Activities: Rapid prototyping workshop (with an innovation professional that's worked with Nike, Fitbit, L'Oreal, Bang & Olufsen); Q&A with a NZ startup founder; Virtual tour & Q&A with a Tech Giant (e.g. Zendesk, Microsoft); Virtual networking event with HEX community

Activities: UI & Figma workshop with Matt Kwong; Intro to South Korean startup ecosystem; AR / VR workshop and demo with Sarah Tan (ex-Google, ex-Adobe)
Day 5
Activities: Legal structures & setting up a business with Luna Startup Studio; Reflections workshop; Intro to the Indian startup ecosystem; Mini-pitch activity with students at School of the Future in India

Activities: Tech stack workshop (including low code / no code options); Intro to Indonesian startup ecosystem; Mentor time; Social activity
Day 7
Activities: “Do your own PR” masterclass; Pitch Deck 101 workshop; Q&A with a venture capitalist; Growth hacking workshop.

Activities: Pitching workshop with a TED coach; Yoga & mindfulness (& Q&A with the founder of a Hong Kong wellness business); Mentor time

Meet Jaclyn Benstead
Chief Experience Officer at Hacker Exchange, Jaclyn (…call her Jac!) is an international higher education and student experience expert with over 11 years working across Australia, Japan, the UK and Canada. She is also an experienced e-commerce entrepreneur, inventor and creative, having developed the viral product sensation, Cat Camp.
Jac plays drums professionally, brews craft beer non-professionally, and holds an MBA, specialising in Entrepreneurship from Swinburne University and Northeastern University – where she was the highest achieving graduate. At HEX, Jac is known for her personal, commercial and effective mentoring style and always has a great travel story up her sleeve.
On this program, Jac will be backed up by Alfie Torres, James Robertson and the HEX team.

Chinh and her co-founder capitalised on the rising trend of virtual reality games and their passion for game development to start Eggnado Games, a VR game studio that seeks to create dynamic, immersive and educational experiences.

Wynn addresses the problem of travelling to your GP appointment in the densely-populated city of Jakarta by offering an online consultation telemedicine solution called Qliniku, that offers cloud-based patient records as well as available nearby doctors for online appointments.
Ocean Eye by Manning Gratwick, HEX Singapore
Manning’s experience as a lifeguard has inspired him to create Ocean Eye, an app-solution that offers image-based wave tracking to warn beachgoers of high-risk conditions through machine learning.
