HEXPO 2026: Find Your Frequency

MC Mayor 🇵🇭

What happens when you give people a whole week to learn, build, connect, question and celebrate?

You get HEXPO 2026.

Under this year’s theme, Find Your Frequency, HEXPO brought together students, founders, creators, educators, mentors, industry leaders and the wider HEX community for a week of ideas, conversations, experiences and plenty of moments that happened outside the usual conference format.

Because HEXPO 2026 wasn’t just one event.

It was a whole week to find your frequency.

One week. More ways to connect.

HEXPO has evolved.

In 2025, we brought the community together for our Feastival of Ideas, with a full-day conference, 16 keynotes and panels, 25 speakers and more than 500 attendees.

This year, we stretched the experience across a full week.

That meant there was no single way to do HEXPO.

You could build.

You could learn.

You could meet a mentor.

You could hear from the next generation of founders.

You could sit down for dinner.

And, eventually, you could dance it all out.

Across the week, the HEXPO program included Lo-Fi Build Night, Coffee Mentor Walk, Generation Next On Air, HEXPO Live, HEXPO VIP Dinner and After Hours Rave, alongside the ideas and conversations that made up the wider HEXPO experience.

Different formats. Different people. Different frequencies.

All connected by the same question:

What are you tuning into?

Static or Signal: What’s actually worth your attention?

We live in a world where attention is constantly being competed for.

Our feeds know what we like. Trends move faster than we can keep up with them. Algorithms are increasingly shaping what we see, what we engage with and, sometimes, what we think we like.

So HEXPO started by asking a pretty important question:

What’s actually worth your attention?

The Static or Signal conversation unpacked the mechanics behind the algorithms competing for our attention, from variable rewards and endless scrolling to the speed at which trends now move.

But it wasn’t just about telling people to put their phones down.

It was about developing better filters.

Will you care about this in a week?

Does it build towards something lasting?

Who benefits if you engage with it?

And how does it actually make you feel?

Because filters can keep the noise out.

But taste decides what is worth letting in.

Same Story, New Frequency

Not every career follows a straight line.

Not every founder starts with a five-year plan.

And not every creative knows exactly where their work is going.

That’s what made Same Story, New Frequency such a fitting part of HEXPO.

The conversation explored creativity, identity and the ways people are building careers and businesses in a world where the rules keep changing.

Because what worked yesterday doesn’t automatically work today.

The challenge isn’t to throw everything away and start again.

It’s to stay curious enough to evolve.

To question assumptions.

To experiment.

To find a version of your story that actually sounds like you.

Tuning into Southeast Asia

The future isn’t being built in one city.

And it certainly isn’t being built in one country.

HEX has spent years building connections across Australia and Southeast Asia, and that global perspective was an important part of HEXPO 2026.

The Tuning Into: Southeast Asia conversations brought attention to the people, businesses and ideas shaping the region, including voices connected to Generation Next.

From founders and entrepreneurs to educators and community builders, the message was clear:

there is a huge amount of talent already building the future across Southeast Asia.

And the more connected those people become, the more possibilities open up.

That’s something we see across HEX programs every day.

Learning doesn’t stop at a border.

Neither does opportunity.

From building to walking, talking and learning

One of the best things about making HEXPO a week-long experience was being able to change the format.

Not every good conversation needs a stage.

Sometimes, it needs a whiteboard.

That’s where Lo-Fi Build Night came in, creating space to take ideas out of your head and start making something.

Sometimes, it needs a coffee.

Coffee Mentor Walk brought people together in a more relaxed setting, making room for the kind of conversations that can be difficult to have in a packed room between sessions.

And sometimes, it just needs people who are curious enough to sit down and talk.

That’s the beauty of community.

You never quite know which conversation will lead somewhere.

Generation Next On Air

The next generation isn’t waiting around for permission to build the future.

They’re already doing it.

Generation Next On Air brought that energy into the HEXPO week, putting the spotlight on young founders, emerging voices and the ideas coming out of the next generation.

It’s a conversation we care deeply about at HEX.

Because young people aren’t simply preparing for the future of work.

They’re already shaping it.

They’re starting companies.

Building communities.

Creating new products.

Questioning old systems.

And finding new ways to solve problems that matter.

The job isn’t to tell them what the future looks like.

It’s to give them the time, trust, opportunity, power and agency to help shape it.

HEXPO Live: keeping the conversation going

Then there was HEXPO Live.

Because some conversations are too good to keep contained to a single session.

The live format gave the wider community another way to tune in, connect with the ideas coming out of HEXPO and keep the conversation moving.

And that’s really what this week was about.

Not simply putting people in a room and giving them information.

Creating enough space for ideas to travel.

From one conversation to another.

From one person to another.

From the stage into the community.

And, hopefully, from the community into action.

The HEXPO VIP Dinner

Then came the quieter moments.

The HEXPO VIP Dinner brought together guests and community leaders around the table for an evening of conversation, connection and reflection.

No stage.

No packed agenda.

Just good people, good conversations and the opportunity to go a little deeper.

Because some of the most valuable connections aren’t made while someone is holding a microphone.

They’re made over dinner.

And then we switched frequencies…

Of course, we couldn’t finish a week like this without a little bit of chaos.

Enter After Hours Rave.

After a week of thinking, building, questioning and connecting, it was time to put the work away for a minute and celebrate.

Music on.

Brains off.

Community fully activated.

Because being future-focused doesn’t mean taking yourself too seriously.

At HEX, we believe there is room for ambition and fun.

For deep conversations and very loud music.

For building the future and celebrating the people building it with you.

What stayed with us

The best thing about HEXPO isn’t necessarily one keynote, one panel or one big idea.

It’s what happens afterwards.

Someone changes the way they use their social media.

Someone meets a mentor.

Someone decides to build the thing they’ve been thinking about.

Someone realises there are more possibilities for their future than they thought.

Someone meets a future co-founder.

Someone finds a community where they feel like they belong.

And sometimes, someone simply leaves with a better question than the one they arrived with.

That’s enough.

Because learning isn’t always about having the answer.

Sometimes, it’s about knowing what to pay attention to next.

Find Your Frequency

The world is noisy.

The technology keeps changing.

Trends move faster.

Career paths are becoming less predictable.

And there is more information competing for our attention than ever before.

So perhaps finding your frequency isn’t about finding one perfect path.

Maybe it’s about figuring out what matters to you.

Who you want around you.

What you want to build.

What you want to learn.

And what you want to tune out.

HEXPO 2026 was one big reminder that there isn’t one way to find your frequency.

There are many.

You might find yours while building something at Lo-Fi Build Night.

Walking with a mentor.

Listening to the next generation.

Sitting around a dinner table.

Having a conversation at aHEXPO Live.

Or dancing with the HEX community long after the work is done.

Whatever your frequency, find it.

And then see where it takes you.
