At HEX, our community is all about bold ideas and real-world impact. That’s why we’re thrilled to spotlight Anuki Jayaratna, a digital artist, storyteller, and lecturer who secured 1st place at the HEX High Intensive: South Asia Entrepreneurship Program in Colombo.

The program, delivered in partnership with RMIT University and Medibank, brought together emerging founders and changemakers from across South Asia. Over two immersive days, participants shaped business ideas, pitched under pressure, and built the resilience every entrepreneur needs.

A festival of art, technology & empathy

Anuki’s winning pitch was more than just an idea, it was a vision for Sri Lanka’s future.

Her concept? A creative festival that fuses art, technology, and empathy to inspire a new generation of Sri Lankans to think differently about careers and culture.

Sri Lanka has always been rich in art, technology, and cultural heritage. Yet, as Anuki explains, these connections have often been disrupted or forgotten. Her festival aims to bring them back together, proving that creativity and innovation aren’t separate fields but powerful forces when combined.

“Art, technology, and empathy are the drivers of future global development. By showcasing them together, I want to spark fresh ways of thinking and new career pathways for Sri Lankans.”

The road ahead 

For Anuki, winning at HEX is just the launchpad. With her festival idea gaining momentum, she’s now focused on building collaborations, refining her vision, and turning it into a reality that could reshape how Sri Lankans connect with both culture and careers.

And this is exactly what HEX is about: ideas moving from pitch decks into the real world.
