We’re proud to share that our CEO, Jeanette Cheah, has been appointed to the Victorian International Education Advisory Council (IEAC) for the 2025–27 term.

The IEAC is a non-statutory advisory body that provides advice to the Victorian Government on matters relating to international education, supporting the Minister for Economic Growth and Jobs.

What is the IEAC?

The Victorian International Education Advisory Council brings together senior leaders from education and industry to provide strategic advice on international education.

Its role is to support government consideration of how Victoria engages globally through education, across policy, sector development, and international education settings, informed by lived experience from across the ecosystem.

A different voice at the table

International education isn’t shaped by institutions alone.

Alongside senior leaders from universities and education providers, Jeanette brings a founder-led, innovation-driven perspective, shaped by building global education programs from the ground up and working closely with students, industry partners, and government stakeholders.

Her appointment reflects the importance of education models that are action-oriented, globally connected, and closely linked to how people learn, work, and build careers today.

Showing up where education is shaped

For the HEX community, this appointment means the realities of startup-led learning, global programs, and industry-connected education are part of broader conversations shaping international education in Victoria.

It reinforces HEX’s role not just as a program provider, but as an active contributor to how education evolves, locally and globally.
