At HEX, we often encourage our founders and community to continue asking and learning as we navigate this ever-changing world together.

Meet Ariana Maagma, our HEX International alumni who spent two weeks exploring an entrepreneur journey with us in Singapore. Here’s some of her nugget of gold on what she learnt.

“It’s amazing to realize how people can be so generous with their time to actually sit down and share their knowledge with you — all you have to do is ask.

Here are some of the things I’ve picked up from the meaningful conversations I had in Singapore:

🌻 Embrace the abundance mindset. The world is big enough for all of us, and there’s enough opportunity for everyone to thrive. Be ready to cheer others on, because when your time comes, you’d want them to do the same for you.

👩‍💻 Do not wish for success without being prepared to put in the hard work. It’s about earning it and proving you’re deserving of it.

💡 Entrepreneurship is all about doing, not thinking. Ideas are floating everywhere, but the real value lies in the execution. Get creative in making your approach so unique that copying becomes impossible.

👫 Understand your market inside out so you can build a good narrative around it. Tell compelling stories that people can relate to. Keep it real, keep it human.

📅 Set deadlines to keep things moving — “let’s try this out for the next 6 months, and then re-evaluate.” Things are not always going to pan out well, and that’s okay. You’re here to keep testing what works and what doesn’t.

💬 People love to co-create with you. Don’t hesitate to ask questions and seek feedback. You’d be surprised by how much of their time and knowledge they’re willing to share with you.

💌 Shoot your shot and don’t fear rejection. Not hearing back is no different from not reaching out in the first place.

🌱 As your company grows, be open to delegating tasks, even ones you enjoy doing. There’s humility in recognizing that you can only do so much as a founder, and that there are people out there who can do things better than you do — your job is just to find them.
